Special Celebration

Waters of BaptismYou are invited to join us for a very special celebration.

Change your life. Turn to God and be baptised, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, so your sins are forgiven. Receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. – Acts 2:38

On Sunday 4th January, 2009, at10:30am we will meet together at Lovat Hall to worship God and celebrate the Baptism of Aaron Elmer, and everyone is welcome!  We were really pleased at Camp this year when Aaron gave his life to the Lord after a period of questioning and exploring his understanding of faith, and we look forward to joining with him as he makes this public declaration of that faith.  Please pray for Aaron over the next few months as he prepares for this big event in his life, and please join us there…

If you’re not sure what Baptism is and why it’s important, take a look at the following pages from the Baptist Union of Great Britain:

If you still have questions, please feel free to ask them below in the comments, or get in touch.

First Aid Course Details

Notice for Staff & Asst. Staff:

At the last Camp meeting Catherine was asked to organise a First Aid Course for those MK Camp Staff and Asst. Staff. The proposed course is an ‘Appointed Persons First Aid’ qualification which meets the requirements for anyone wishing to be a first aider at Camp, and will be an all day course.

The cost for each participant is £50 but Camp will be able to meet part of the cost, and your BB/GB Company may also be able to assist.

We are happy to open this course to others within our Churches/organisations which may find it useful.

The following dates are available as options at this stage:

  • Saturday 7th February
  • Saturday 21st February
  • Saturday 28th February

If you are interested in attending this course, please contact Catherine Hall [ Cathy.Hall@talk21.com | 01908 612292 ] as soon as possible to let her know which dates you are able to make.

Note: Catherine will select the one date which is convenient to the greatest number of people and organise the course for that date.

Slowing Down; Seeing God

As promised, below you’ll find the slides from the Sacred Reading (Lectio Divina) exercise at The Hub.  You should be able to use these to try the exercise out at home.  You can download a file which contains the original, more detailed notes.

I’ve had a little bit of feedback about the different approach to devotions this year – but I’d love to hear what you think (especially if it’s not working for you).  Please let me know what you think of the more contemplative approach.

The Hub – 16th November – New Venue

We continue our devotional series entitled “Stop” at this month’s Hub. Please note that we will be back at Lovat Hall this month (it’s not a typo) – don’t turn up at WECC by mistake, ‘cos you’ll be sorely disappointed.

We will be showing the first half of the video from Camp 2007 – so if you joined us for Camp last year, make sure you come along.  And more importantly, if you know of anyone who is thinking about attending Camp this year, please make every effort to encourage them to join us so they can see exactly what we get up to!

Date: Sunday, 16th November
Time: 7:00pm until 9:30pm
Where: Lovat Hall, Newport Pagnell [MK16 0EJ]

Note that you can click on the Hub logo in the left column for all the Hub dates and venues for the year.

If you have any questions please get in touch any time.
